Meet Our Director

Sandy Hanrahan


Sandy has spent more than 20 years immersed in the world of accounting, management and human resources.


She is a qualified finance professional with CPA accreditation and human resources qualifications.


Beginning her career in the oil and gas industry for a national engineering firm, Sandy’s expertise spans across all accounting functions and human resources duties.

After spending five years in the UK as an accountant in the real estate industry and subsequently the oil and gas sector, she returned to Australia in a senior finance role. Here she oversaw the financial management of multiple companies and provided human resources support, including implementing policies, performance management, training, development and recruitment.


Following this, Sandy took on the position of Chief Financial Officer at award winning cellar door and restaurant Hentley Farm, before starting her own advisory services firm Aina Consulting.


Currently, as Director of Halcyon, Sandy works one-on-one with organisations to develop values-based recruitment strategies and provide personalised human resources services.


She is results-driven and has a proven track record of working with dynamic organisations and complex business issues and systems. Sandy’s systematic and measured approach sees her deliver exceptional results for her clients using best practice techniques.

Meet Our Recruitment & HR Guru

Michelle Denny


Michelle is a Senior Consultant with Halcyon Recruitment.  After heading up Gold Coast HR for six years, Michelle has joined forces with Halcyon to provide HR and Recruitment services for the Gold Coast, Northern NSW, Brisbane and Queensland regions.  Michelle’s HR career spans across two decades where she has honed her HR and recruitment expertise in engineering, mining, resources, manufacturing, health and more recently community services including aged care.

Michelle has a remarkable network of connections, and is known for her strong ability to tease out complex HR issues (particularly around recruitment, performance management and workplace policies and procedures) and provide professional guidance to execute people strategies that foster growth, innovation and an amazing culture.


Tertiary qualified in both HR and complementary health, Michelle combines her skillset to deliver a fresh approach to traditional HR and is excited to work with you and your business.
