Background

 

AvantiCare provides holistic allied healthcare and wellbeing services for the aged community across South Australia. With a limited pool of experienced health care candidates available, the organisation was struggling to fill positions in its rapidly growing business.

 

Our Approach

 

Halcyon was engaged to develop a long-term recruitment strategy and fill newly created and existing roles. Through the development of targeted job advertisements and leveraging strong industry connections, a number of value-aligned candidates were selected and awarded permanent roles. Most recently, Halcyon was tasked with finding a Personal Assistant to the Managing Director. Due to the nature of the role, it was vitally important that the candidate was the right fit personally and professionally.

 

Results

 

Since successfully filling the role of Personal Assistant, the new recruit has thrived and made a huge difference to the company. The Managing Director has even taken a well earned holiday with the confidence that everything was in hand while she was away!

In recent years, the rapid growth of our business has presented us with major human resource challenges. The aged-care industry is notorious for being difficult to recruit high-quality staff because we’re competing for the same small pool of candidates.

Sandy from Halcyon tackled our recruitment problem strategically by focussing on enhancing our company culture and putting systems in place to improve our position as an employer of choice. As a result, we now have the strongest team ever! We’re well-positioned to attract and retain high-quality staff who are aligned with our core values. Sandy also established long-term recruitment plans for our business by initiating an internship program with a local university. This gives students invaluable on the job experience and the opportunity to learn about our company culture. In turn, it gives us access to high quality candidates before they enter the market.
